The open source upstream of OpenShift, the next generation application hosting platform developed by Red Hat.

OpenShift Origin includes support for a wide variety of language runtimes and data layers including Java EE6, Ruby, PHP, Python, Perl, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

On your laptop

The easiest way to run OpenShift Origin locally is to download an image suitable for running on a VM. The image will work on KVM , VirtualBox or VMWare.

You can also build your own machine using Puppet or follow the comprehensive guide and deploy OpenShift Origin manually.

On Your Cloud

Build your own PaaS with OpenShift Origin. Head over to install.openshift.com to deploy your own OpenShift system, or check out a pre-built VM at the OpenShift Origin site.
